Carniny 2012 Girls @ Antrim Rovers Festival of Football

The 2012 girls had an enjoyable Sunday at Antrim Rovers Festival of Football tournament at Allen Park sponsored by The Lake Kilrea. The league format saw the girls drawing 3 games 0-0 against Cliftonville, Bushmills and St Marys with a 2-0 loss against Moyola Bluebells in a competitive section. Results meant it wasn't enough to reach a final. Congratulations to winners Barn United Youth academy & Ballyclare Comrades ladies youth FC. Carniny 2012s had a weekend packed with 2 fun days of girls football.

Carniny U9 @ Portrush Cup

The Under 9’s enjoyed a sunny Saturday morning at a tournament organised by Portrush FC. The reds remained undefeated in the group stage with two 1-0 wins, a 0-0 draw and finished off the group in style with a 4-1 win. Unfortunately, we lost 1-0 in the semi-final to Ballymena Utd in a well contested game. Goals came from Adam, Conor and Ryan. Harris and Theo covered every blade of grass in midfield and Evan, Jack and David were rock solid at the back. Shout out to Kai, who not 100%, kept 3 clean sheets and pulled off a world class save in the semi-final. All the coaches are super proud of the boys who played some excellent football in all the games.

AHEAD OF THE GAME COURSE ARRANGED

Carniny are running an AHEAD OF THE GAME course for its members on Tuesday 18th June 2024 at Ballymena Bowling Club starting at 7pm covering the subject of mental health. Carniny have always been proactive in training their members not only with football related projects but other topics which can benefit their staff and players alike.

SUMMER BLITZ AT CARNHILL

The club will be holding a summer blitz at their home ground at Carnhill for children born in the years 2020, 2019 and 2018 so keep an eye on the clubs’ social media for details. They may also be experimenting with some particular age groups as the club makes plans for the future.

LATEST TEAMS FORMED

Young people born in 2017 are invited to trial at Carniny and should contact Steven Craig on 07860101476 for details of summer dates. All the clubs’ teams will be inviting trialists over the summer to come along and have a go!

Another girls team will also be formed within the girls’ section with a possibility of even two teams depending on how recruitment goes within the girl’s section which goes from strength to strength.

SOCIAL TEAM TO BE FORMED

The club have a new idea in creating a 'social' team for adults who cannot commit to regular games/training due to work or family commitments yet still enjoy a game now and then or training. This is intended for former players although guests 18 years and above would be welcome. Anyone interested contact Billy O'Flaherty for details for a programme which will hopefully start shortly.
