The Under 9 Amateur team were successful in bringing home the Plate for winning the 2nd place final. The boys finished undefeated in the group with a 0-0 draw against group winners Newtowne, a 2-2 draw with East End, goals from Noah and Adam, and a 4-1 win over Craigavon, goals from Adam (2), Conor and Theo. The final was a tightly contested game against Oxford that finished 0-0. The game then went to penalties with both Noah and Adam cooly converting their penalties and Kai pulling off two excellent saves to win us the match. Carniny would like to thank Moyola for hosting an excellent tournament and we hope to be there next year.

The Under 9 Youths attended their first tournament at Moyola on Saturday getting off to a great start by beating Moyola 16’s 3:0 -Leo scoring twice and James scoring the other goal. This result was followed up with another victory against Craigavon 3:1 Ryan Leo and James getting the goals. In their third game they came up against a really strong Dungannon team losing for the first time. This meant they came second in their group qualifying for the plate semi-final but after a good start they ran out of steam against Sky blues and lost 3:0. The boys did really well for their first tournament together and can now have a deserved summer break before the new season.

SUMMER BLITZ AT CARNHILL

The club will be holding a summer blitz at their home ground at Carnhill for children born in the years 2020, 2019 and 2018 so keep an eye on the clubs’ social media for details. They may also be experimenting with some particular age groups as the club makes plans for the future.

LATEST TEAMS FORMED

Young people born in 2017 are invited to trial at Carniny and should contact Steven Craig on 07860101476 for details of summer dates. All the clubs’ teams will be inviting trialists over the summer to come along and have a go!

Another girls team will also be formed within the girls’ section with a possibility of even two teams depending on how recruitment goes within the girl’s section which goes from strength to strength.

SOCIAL TEAM TO BE FORMED

The club have a new idea in creating a 'social' team for adults who cannot commit to regular games/training due to work or family commitments yet still enjoy a game now and then or training. This is intended for former players although guests 18 years and above would be welcome. Anyone interested contact Billy O'Flaherty for details for a programme which will hopefully start shortly.
