Final Score: Carniny 1-2 St Oliver Plunkett
The match kicked off at a very windy Whiterock Leisure Centre, with both teams showing strong intent from the start. Despite the challenging conditions, both Carniny and St Oliver Plunkett created several early chances. It was St Oliver Plunkett who broke the deadlock first, capitalizing on a well-worked attack to take a 1-0 lead. The game remained lively, with both teams launching counter-attacks, moving the ball from end to end. St Oliver Plunkett, however, seized another opportunity, striking again with a swift attack down the right wing to make it 2-0 by half-time.
Carniny started the second half with renewed energy, despite having to battle against the wind. Their persistence paid off when a perfectly timed ball through midfield found Alecia, who confidently finished to pull one back for Carniny. Both teams continued to create chances, with Carniny nearly equalizing when Isla C's powerful free kick met Alicia who unfortunately hit the post. Farrah also came close to leveling the score in the dying moments, but a fantastic save from St Oliver Plunkett’s goalkeeper denied her, preserving the 2-1 victory.
A spirited contest from both sides, with Carniny fighting hard until the final whistle. All the best to St Oliver Plunkett as they continue their season.
